Actually I don't collect azurite (I have only one Morenci specimen in my collection), but this one caught my eye. This specimen from Black Forest in southern Germany consists of vivid-blue azurite that has a wonderful contrast to the matrix. A new addition from the Marburg mineral show that took place yesterday.

Mineral:
Azurite
Locality:
Neubulach, Calw, Calw District, Karlsruhe Region, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

And another German quartz specimen that caught my eye: This specimen from Saarland is quite good and large for the locality and consists of a clear quartz crystal with some smaller crystals attached, parts of the specimen have a reddish hue due to some hematite coating. A nice addition for a collector who loves quartz and tries to assemble some nice minerals from Germany.

Mineral:
Quartz, hematite
Locality:
Wadrilltal, Wadern, Saarland, Germany
Dimensions:
Specimen size 8 x 3 cm
Description:
Several photos that show this quartz from different angles.

And finally, a new mineral for me. I never was interested in brookite and I never thought I would want one for my collection. But I could not resist the aesthetics of this little piece: A free-standing, damage-free brookite crystal of nearly 2 cm rises from the matrix and is surrounded by small quartzes. A lovely addition I never thought I wanted ;-)

Nice brookite, Tobi. That Pakistani locality has provided the best brookites of the world, and every collection should have at least one.

Thank you, Carles and Michael :-)

I know what you mean. But it was never my collecting approach to collect minerals because the locality is special or because they're the best of the species or because "every collection should have one" ;-) I collect only what appeals to me in terms of aesthetics, and brookite never really appealed to me ... but when this specimen was handed to me, I changed my mind ;-)

The next specimen is a small sculpture of fluorite on schorl from the Erongo Mountains in Namibia that strikes with its shape and beauty. An eye-catcher, though a quite small one :-)

Although small, it's a really good acquisition. I recently bought a very similar specimen from Erongo, probably from the same vug, and I'm happy with it.

Thanks Carles. I remember the specimen in your thread, also very nice! I guess there are many many vugs with very similar mineralization in this area but who knows, maybe they're from the same :-)

Hello Tobi, Very nice specimen.Visually, a beauty.
Thank you Dany. I'm really in love with this piece. And it was at first sight when I saw the photo above in a recent update from the dealer :-)

A real winner - a "toenail" in the TGMS Show - Erongo is an amazing place. congrats, bob
Thanks Bob. I never thought about mineral competitions but if I should ever join one - this specimen would be with me ;-) And yes, the mountains of the Erongo Region are really amazing, one of my favourite mineral localities!
... which leads to the next mineral specimen that will be my last addition in 2024: This wonderful specimen of amethyst comes the Brandberg area and features almost everything that made this area famous, the crystals include phantoms, different colour zones and bubble inclusions. A great addition for me since I love both quartz and Namibian minerals:
