Hi Don, as an expert on the mineral specie discussed in this thread, I have a question or two for you. I have noticed a growth of some strange mineral species on tomatosite. Could you be so kind to help with the identification. Best regards :-)

Hmm... I hate to say it, but it looks asbestiform and could pose an inhalation hazard. You might want to dispose of this one!

Hello Pierre,
It appears to me that your Tomatosite has developed a mycelial growth with fruiting bodies or spores, possibly rhizopus sp. Perhaps a culture and special stains would help.
