|
A couple of times when I have posted a specimen, I have included the person that collected it in the field along with the date. These descriptions have been removed. I have looked through the rules for the section and I found "Commercial or repeat pictures are not allowed". Is posting the person that collected the specimen in the field considered a repeat picture? I can't seem to find anything else that would apply.
It seems clear this information is not wanted. I am just trying to understand why.
Thanks,
Richard |

Hi Richard,
The name of the person that collected the specimen is more than welcome. If that name was removed it was my fault or some other administrator fault. Maybe you located this info in the name of the name of the mineral field or in the locality field? If you do it is easy that by mistake when we normalize the name of the mineral or either the locality we don't paid attention to other details and with the normalization these details gone. If you wrote the collector name in the description field then it was our mistake. Please send me a PM with the text you had as well as the indicated post reference and I will add these texts immediately and sorry for the confusion.
As you know this is a bona fide work, sometimes we have a lot of work, we do things fast and some details can escape to our attention. |

Thank you Jordi, I have sent you a PM. I just noticed the dimensions are also missing. I understand the massive amount of work administering a site like this must be and am thankful to yourself and everyone else that keep things in good order. I tried to edit the message myself, but the order of the images seemed to change in the preview, so I didn't submit.
Best regards,
Richard |

Please go ahead and change what you want. The phpBB system shows in the preview the images in disorder but when you publish it they will be in the proper order. Thank you. |
