Hi, Tang

Many thanks for the other set of amethysts.
Those, I have not trouble to see them as Pakistan origin.
Is that special kind of scepter that fueled my curiosity. More being announced and sold also by Mr. Weiss (Lapis owner), with a full article, and many years ago

On the other side, I suppose that there is a language barrier:
You say that you are in Pakistan for 10 years and your photos place as origin China.

Then, I asked the *listizens*, not you again, because you have already answered me, if anyone could say that he has seen same in Pakistan or just only from Madagascar.
You say that you will not prove because it is not necessary.
Well, I am chemist, enegineer, and my training is that all sould be proven when a doubt exists.
Two minds, two ways of thinking...

Yes, you say that you care not about provenance..and for me and many other collectors provenance (or locality, if prefered), is a must.
As I said, two minds, two ways of thinking.

Besides, to buy a piece fom a place does not authomatically imply that piece is from *that* locality. Normally it is, but some people do wonders...
Maybe you remember the fuss about the szenicszite locality.... First given was, well, somehow far from mthe real one...
And not so many years ago, Jordi placed to us to read the history of the Blue/green/fantastically colored kunzite bought by Dr. Lavinsky in Tucson from a pakistani dealer...that resulted in a treated (irradiated) one. History was wrote by Dr. Lavinsky himself, by the way..
And susntone (treated!) said that comes from a mine in Tibet...that does not exists..

So, if any other listizen could give me his knowledge to me, I would be very thankful

With best wishes

Lluís

Tang:

I would urge you to care greatly about locality information, as most collectors consider this information essential. Collections without locality information are essentially valueless to anyone other than the collector. In fact many modern collectors are today carefully recording everything that they can about specimens they acquire, such as source, when collected, former ownership, etc.

John
