PostPosted: Jul 24, 2011 11:25    Post subject: Clearview claim 2011

The snow is finally gone so I have been up working at my clearview claim any free day I have. Found one good pocket which yielded four decent sized smoky quartz crystals. Still hoping to find another amethyst pocket this season. work is slow and hard for I have now removed all the dirt off the deposit and am working into the hardrock. I am working by hand with sledgehammer and pry bars and chisels so the work is really slow. The granite is soft in places and really hard in others. Pockets are abundant but still it is easy to work for hours or days without finding one. hoping to get a drill and jackhammer up there next season. just one pocket of amethyst sceptors will pay for it all :) now I just need to find them. more to come

Thank you for sharing the pictures - both the crystals and the landscape are beautiful.

I'm leaving this message as "NEW" so I can return to it and dream while I'm in my stuffy windowless office this week.

Great finds and I hope you find that dream pocket that every prospector hopes to find, the one filled to the brim with gems of all sort
