In the coming November/December issue of Rocks & Minerals there will be an article about adding a complete list of IMA (International Mineralogical Association) approved mineral names to your computer's dictionary. I have been given permission by the author Dr. John Rakovan, to make this article available through Jordi's Forum. This is a wonderful feature for anyone who enters mineral names in text frequently because if any mineral name is misspelled it will be flagged with a red line under it. A right click on the name will produce the proper spelling. These names, of course, will be in the form that has been accepted by the IMA and are as they appear in Fleischer's Glossary of Mineral Species 2008. This can be very useful for people who have trouble remembering how to spell mineral names.

Thank you. The mineral dictionary will be a great help both with correspondence and hopefully with preparing labels and cataloguing
