Well that's it for this photofest and show report. I hope you all enjoyed seeing what goes on at these great mineral shows.
I want to finish this with two last photos. One is of Ray Hill who was driving by to say goodbye to us as we went to our car to go to the airport, it is always a nice thing to see friends and to wish them well. The second photo is of our cat, Adularia aka Addie, who was not happy with us when we came home and you can tell by the wicked look he is giving me ....he is such a part of our mineral fun and we miss him, along with our 21 OTHER pets, when we travel.
Cheers! Next report will be Tucson 2010.

One day Carles! Right now I like to spend time with my grandsons as they walk around for Halloween dressed in costume. They are both still little and I won't give up my Grandmother time!
We made 5 mineral shows this year, plus other travel. I think I will sit back and enjoy staying at home for a while!!!
When are YOU coming this way???? If I keep doing show reports you may never feel the need to come!
Cheers, and just teasing you!

Actually, I will be doing a report in early November. Herb and Moni Obodda will be joining Jim and me as we go off with the paleontologist from the Dallas Museum of Nature and Science down to Big Bend, in Texas, for some camping and hiking and looking at fossils.
We will be enjoying some digging and learning about the history of the making of Big Bend. The paleontologist is a wonderful man who will give us four days of education and we will enjoy sitting around the Texas park with a camp fire, toasting marshmallows and telling tall tales!
Now that is my idea of a good time!

Next year. Don't forget!
If you've never been there, go and you won't regret it.

As always, wonderful job Gail, thanks a lot for it!
With your so complete notes you tend bridges between the two souls of the mineral society, the species-collectors and the icon-collectors. Still people maybe are not given much attention, people like you are basic to give knowledge of both sides to each other.

High praise from you Jordi, thank you.
There are many common qualities amongst collectors of minerals, the joy of holding a new acquisition. The pure appreciation of a great rock and the fun of visiting with other like-minded people.
Instead of everyone looking for differences, I prefer to look for similarities in people.
Did you see how many smiling faces are in my reports? I seldom, if ever, ask people to smile....they do so on their own.
Cheers and best wishes to you Jordi!
