PostPosted: Mar 13, 2010 06:29    Post subject: Rochester Mineralogical Symposium

The annual symposium, quite possibly the best of its kind, is coming up again, April 15-18, in Rochester, New York. I have been asked to post this announcement about one event that will occur during the show.

WARD’S Welcomes
The Rochester Mineral
Symposium!
OPEN HOUSE
April 15, 2010
12:00 Noon to 5:00pm
Ward’s Natural Science Establishment warmly welcomes you to the 37th Annual
Rochester Mineral Symposium with a unique invitation to visit our warehouse and
production facility for a behind-the-scenes look at a truly special science education
company. Founded in 1862 by renowned geologist and collector, Henry Ward, this
Rochester-based company has supplied schools, universities, museums, and collector’s
the world over with the finest rock, mineral, and fossil specimens for nearly 150 years.
We’d like to share that unique history and passion for geological specimens with you at a
special pre-Symposium Open House. Please join us on Thursday, April 15th between the
hours of 12:00 noon and 5:00pm at our warehouse on West Henrietta Road. You’ll get an
opportunity to tour our production operation and browse through hundreds of mineral
specimens specially priced for Symposium participants. It’s an opportunity you won’t
want to miss, with hidden treasures around every corner.
So please join us, and welcome to Rochester!
5100 West Henrietta Road • Rochester, NY 14692-9012
800-962-2660 • www.wardsci.com

PostPosted: Apr 07, 2010 20:37    Post subject: Micromounting and Rochester Mineral Symposium

I wondered if anyone from FMF is going to be at the upcoming Rochester Mineral Symposium and if there are any micromounters in the crowd joining Quintin's yearly workshop - any micromount images to post? As near as I am to Rochester, previously I've attended the yearly Sinkankas Symposium in Carlsbad which happens to be at the same general time. This year I look forward to meeting people closer to home!

Best wishes,
Elise

I'll be there with my wife, Prue. Anyone else within easy driving should consider coming, at least for a day. It's a wonderful event!
