Hello just joined the forum. I am an amateur rock hound/ gold prospector.

Recently I just heard about this beautiful rock called Pietersite. It has now become my favorite mineral and now opals are 2nd lol

So after studying a bit and finding out that Pietersite is part of the Asbestos family I quickly thought about where I live, Canada. Canada still having and producing asbestos makes me wonder if there is a possibility that Pietersite can possibly be found in Canada?

Is this possible ?

Can Pietersite be found in Canadian asbestos mines?

Very unlikely to be found in Canada's asbestos mines. Different geology. Tigers' Eye, Pietersite and the like occur with amphibole asbestos in metamorphic rocks, whereas Quebec asbestos is a completely different type - serpentine asbestos ("chrysotile") in ultramafic rocks.
