PostPosted: Apr 07, 2020 12:18    Post subject: Fluorites from China

Good day,

These two fluorites are a bit of a mystery to me. I have searched online but have not found anything quite like them. I did find a video showing similar fluorites in terms of color, however these showed a different crystal habit. I can share that video if that is needed (and allowed).

Does anyone recognize these pieces? All I know for sure is that they are from China. I have not been able to find a locality there that produces similar specimens. I suspect they are both from the same mine.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply. I did some searching and similar material did come from that locality. It could very well be correct. However, nothing I can find online seems to really match these pieces. I do see similar green fluorite crystals, some with purple fluorite, but the purple fluorite crystals on these are always tiny and have a different crystal structure.
