Hello all,

I thought for some fun I would post a picture of one of my personal mineral specimens to see if anybody can pinpoint the locality of it. To tell you the truth, I know exactly where this garnet on muscovite is from, but I thought everyone else might get a kick out of trying to figure it out for themselves. I will let you know that it is around a 2.8 cm long garnet on a matrix of muscovite that is about 7.8 cm long. Good luck!

Actually, now that I think about it, I do have a question for my fellow board members. I've always been under the assumption that this is most likely an almandine garnet, but I have no way of knowing for sure. What do the rest of you think? Thanks!

Jordi and I do not think that this is an appropriate type of thread to introduce so we are not going to continue it.

To be more precise, my feeling is that if you know from where is the almandine?, better if you share it with us.

We had similar kind of games in the Spanish Forum and they created unnecessary disputes, so following the advise of John, I will lock this thread.

Arthur, we will be happy sharing with you your posts, so if you wish you can open a new thread concerning your fine Garnet, but please not games, but mineralogy. Thanks!

Jordi
