There is a bit of exciting news that you may wish to share on FMF. Peter Megaw has been selected as the Carnegie Mineralogical Award Winner for 2009 by the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. With the permission of Marc Wilson, mineral curator at the Carnegie Museum, you could post the news.

The award will be presented to Peter at the Saturday Night Banquet during the Main Show at Tucson.

My best congratulations to Peter, we are proud and honored to read their posts here as well as his task of FMF's moderator.

Again, congratulations!

Jordi

Wow Peter! Congratulations, very impressive indeed. To quote the honor this award is meant to recognize "...outstanding contributions in mineralogical preservation, conservation, and education that match ideals advanced in the Carnegie Museum of Natural History's Hillman Hall of Minerals & Gems. ".

Impressive ... yet very well deserved!

Finally they got it!!! Äntligen förstod de!!!
Very well deserved and of course you are since long recognized but now also in one more official way as properly should among a suite of excellent mineral people!
See you soon

Peter
